AWE Reflections, Launch News, & Next Meetup Speaker: Shirly Spikes, Interactive Audio Designer from Magic Leap
So many things to report!
Greetings, Apes!
So many things to report!
We're back from the Augmented World Expo (AWE) and, as always, it was an energizing blend of the latest hardware, amazing people, and cutting-edge ideas in XR. Check out this YouTube walk-through by AI News for a glimpse of the action we were a part of.
One of the highlights for us at AWE was the launch of our product Foundry. Our team was thrilled to introduce Foundry to the XR community and the response was fantastic! We set up a multiplayer VR office demo that conference-goers could experience firsthand - a new approach to virtual stand-up meetings and collaboration that's as fun as it is functional.
Here's a great team photo from the event and, in case you missed it, the recording of our talk.
We're also proud to share that Foundry found its way to other demos at AWE. BCVR, the folks behind Burning Man VR, used a version of Foundry for their demo, and the MIT Reality Hack team (including members who won the last MIT Reality Hack using Foundry) was also present. To see Foundry contribute to the work of these innovative teams was truly humbling.
In other Spatial Ape news, don't forget to join our VR meetup on Thursday, 6/15. This time, we're privileged to host Shirly Spikes, Interactive Audio Designer at Magic Leap. It's sure to be a fascinating discussion, so we hope to see you there!

We already emailed you about this a few days ago, but, reposting here… we're also excited to announce that our dev shop is open again for new projects. If you're thinking about exploring the possibilities of VR, we're here to help bring your ideas to life.
Check out our demo reel here.
Contact hello@spatialape.com if you want to talk about a project.
Finally, Apple's much-anticipated XR headset launch has everyone talking. While we'll share more thoughts on this development in the future, in the meantime, check out Justin's latest video where he shares his perspective on what this could mean for the XR dev space.
As always, we're grateful to be part of this vibrant community. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible together.
See you in VR!
